Your entire pitch
is 24 characters
Title 16 to 24. Description 32 to 48. Most campaigns are lost here, long before anyone gets to blame the targeting.
Every field
What a ChatGPT ad is made of
| Field | Limit | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Brand name | Your registered brand | Shown alongside the ad, so it does not need repeating in the title. |
| Logo | Image asset | Small. Legible at thumbnail size or not at all. |
| Title | 16 to 24 characters | The whole hook. One short sentence. |
| Description | 32 to 48 characters | One supporting line. Not a paragraph. |
| Image | Image asset | Carries the mood the copy has no room for. |
| Destination URL | Standard URL | The landing page is reviewed alongside the ad. |

Ship Faster Every Week
Cut your release cycle in half
Northwind
Built from the published field limits, not a screenshot of live placement. The real unit also carries your logo, an image and a destination URL.
The rule that saves you
Write the outcome, not the category. “Ship Faster Every Week” is 21 characters and says what changes for the reader. “The best project management tool” is 34, does not fit, and says nothing.
What tends to survive
- A verb and an outcome.
- A number, because numbers are short and specific.
- The word your customer uses, not the word your industry uses.
- One idea. Never 2 joined by “and”.
What gets cut
- Your brand name in the title. It already appears in its own field.
- Anything ending in “platform” or “solution”.
- Qualifiers. “Helps you”, “designed to”, “the leading”.
Review
Most ads clear review within 24 hours if the creative and the landing page follow ad policy. A rejected ad is usually fixable: edit the offending field and resubmit. Rejection is not an account ban.
Where the agency fee earns itself
Compressing a full value proposition into 24 characters is a real craft. It is also the highest-leverage hour of the whole build. 2 words changed can move click-through more than a week of bid management.
Test in threes
Run 3 titles against one description, then 3 descriptions against the winner. With fields this short, you learn quickly.
